ANGERS, France (AP) — Isabeau Levito's quest for a first Grand Prix victory is over. The 16-year-old American figure skater won the Grand Prix de France on Saturday with a total of 203.22 points for her two programs. Teenager Levito had previously claimed four runner-up finishes at other Grand Prix events, including at Skate America last month. The Grand Prix de France is the third of six events in the ISU Grand Prix series. The best skaters qualify for the Grand Prix Final in Beijing from Dec. 7-10.

CNN —American teenager Isabeau Levito has won her first senior major international figure staking competition, claiming the Grand Prix de France title on Saturday to set up a potential US clean sweep this weekend. Despite finishing third in the Free Skate, the 16-year-old’s overall total of 203.22 was enough for victory and qualification to December’s Grand Prix Final. Thankfully for Levito, the top three from the Short Program all failed to dazzle on Saturday. Grand Prix de France is the third of the six Grands Prix of the season. The 18-year-old is in first place after the Short Program.

CNN —Far-right TV network One America News and one of its on-air personalities settled a defamation lawsuit brought by a former executive at Dominion Voting Systems, the election technology company that was falsely accused of rigging the 2020 election, according to new court filings. By negotiating a deal with Coomer, OAN is resolving one of several pending lawsuits tied to the 2020 presidential election that could lead to dire financial consequences for the small network. The conspiracy-peddling channel still faces two blockbuster defamation suits from Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic, voting technology companies that OAN falsely claimed had rigged the election against Trump. As a correspondent for OAN, Rion has been at the forefront of the network’s pro-Trump propaganda, and she hosted a special called “Dominion-izing the Vote,” which promoted debunked conspiracies about the 2020 election results. In the wake of the 2020 election, Dominion, Smartmatic and Coomer have transformed from relatively unknown figures to prominent players in the effort to seek accountability for Trump’s election lies.

O tornadă puternică de intensitate EF-1 a trecut pe 4 mai prin Rion și a ridicat de la sol mai multe avioane de mici dimensiuni parcate pe un aeroport din statul american Carolina de Sud, potrivit AccuWeathe, citat de libertatea.ro. Fenomentul a fost surprins de camerele de supraveghere pe aeroportul din Fairfield. În imagini se observă cum mai multe avione cu un singur motor nu fac faţa furtunii puternice, unde vântul a bătut cu aproape 170 de kilometri pe oră. Din fericire, tornada nu a făcut victime, însă unele dintre avioane au fost avariate. Tornadele F1 reprezintă 35,6% din totalul tornadelor și generează vânturi de până la 180 km pe oră.
